Realiant field notes May 5, 2026
More coverage should make a listing day easier
When we shared that Realiant was expanding into Salem and Eugene, the goal was simple: give agents more scheduling flexibility without making the experience feel bigger, slower, or less personal.
Before you book outside your usual market
Four questions that prevent listing-day surprises
Coverage is more than a pin on a service-area map. These are the details worth confirming before you promise a media plan to your seller.
Who is showing up?
Ask who will photograph the property, how the team is trained, and how finished work is reviewed for a consistent look.
What is available there?
Photos may be available where drone, twilight, video, floor plans, or a particular delivery option needs extra planning.
How does location affect the order?
Confirm current travel fees and timing before you present the plan. A nearby photographer can make both simpler.
What happens if schedules change?
A trained team creates flexibility only when communication, capture standards, and editing remain dependable.
Behind the lens
The property should decide the media
A coastal setting, a warm interior, and a twilight exterior do not need the same treatment. Good planning starts with what will help a buyer understand this specific property.
Twilight photography
Useful when evening light, architecture, or the setting creates a mood that daytime coverage cannot show as clearly.
Interior photography
Composition and lighting should make a room feel inviting while keeping the layout and important details easy to read.
Drone photography
Best when the land, coastline, views, access, or relationship to the surroundings is part of the property story.

Realtors, did we just lower our prices in this economy? Yes, we did. I am Scott Kemp, owner of Realiant Photography. This is the Realiant Media Minute.
You might think I am crazy for lowering our prices when everything goes up, right? Milk, bread, beef, plane tickets, and everything else. You might think I am crazy. My wife certainly thinks I am crazy sometimes.
Starting this year, we have changed our mindset. I have gone from being a solo shooter and having to do this all myself. I have photographed hundreds and hundreds of homes, but in order to really scale, I needed to hire staff and get other photographers doing this with me.
It was important that I hire the right people. They have to be personable. They have to be friendly. They have to be great photographers. I found that. Growing from a solo photographer to a team is so important. That lets us do volume, and because we are doing volume, it lets me lower our prices.
It is going to be good for everybody. It is going to be good for me, and it is going to be good for you with lower prices. I am not talking about a five percent drop. I am talking, in some cases, about ten, twenty, or thirty percent off our previous prices. It is a really big deal.
In order to make this work, we have to increase our volume, and we are ready to do that. We have three photographers now. We are in Salem, Eugene, Corvallis, and Albany. Of course, we will do the coast and the areas around there.
It is important that we hold ourselves to our existing standard even though we are increasing the volume. We do not want our standards to go down. That is super important to me. I have done photography for twenty or thirty years. I know what looks good, and I have won lots of awards doing that. I am not going to give you a bad product.
How did we do that? We are hiring people, improving our processes, and putting systems in place that make it really efficient for us to do this. We are going to pass those savings on to you.
The cool thing about having multiple photographers is that you have more availability. If one of our photographers is booked, another one can come in and do that shoot for you. It also gets our mileage fees down because we now have one photographer based in Salem and one based in Eugene. That means you are paying less in mileage costs, and that is also really cool.
One more thing we added: not only did we lower our prices, but we offered the ability to pay at closing, when the house actually sells. You can defer the cost of your package until the house sells. The cool thing is that it is a win-win because we get paid immediately and you pay at closing. We pay a little more in processing fees for that ability, but we are happy to do it.
That lets you order the proper media package to sell that home and make a fantastic impression on your seller. If you are an agency owner or brokerage owner, we would love to talk with you, hold a meeting, and discuss how we can get your agents the best pricing possible.

Start with the address
Share the property location early so travel, access, and service availability can be checked before the order is finalized.
Match the media to the story
Acreage may need aerial context. A distinctive floor plan may need a tour. A tight launch schedule may change the appointment plan.
Confirm the current details
Coverage areas, travel fees, availability, package contents, and delivery timing can change. Check them when you book.
Planning your next listing?
Tell us where the property is and what makes it worth seeing.
